KINGDOM Invitation: You ARE Salt & Light [pt 2]

Jun 15, 2025    Wade Bishop

This week's sermon, part of our "Kingdom Invitation" series, delved into Matthew 5:13-16, exploring Jesus' call for us to be "the light of the world." Pastor Wade emphasized that as disciples, we're not meant to be dim lightbulbs, but rather blazing bonfires for Christ. Our light should be seen, felt, and followed, drawing others to the glory of God. This teaching challenges us to live boldly in our faith, allowing the Holy Spirit to shine through us in ways that impact our community and beyond.

Takeaways:

Our light comes from Christ: We must remember that Jesus is the source of our light. This should inform our purpose and dictate the intensity with which we shine in the world.

We're called to be visible, not hidden: Fear and insecurity can dim our light, but we're encouraged to let our faith be seen, pointing others to the Father.

Our light should lead to life: While we're the bearers of light, our ultimate goal is to glorify God and draw others to Him through our good works and witness.
